The Acer Aspire C27-1800 is the latest release in Acer’s 27-inch all-in-one PC category, designed for home-office users who need an affordable, capable desktop for work and entertainment. It’s not an Apple iMac replacement, but it offers lots of computing power at a tolerable price.
At 27 inches, you’re getting enough workspace for your office tasks, and the FHD resolution makes for a good entertainment piece of kit. The tradeoffs are Acer’s plain looks, which lack the sophistication of Apple’s magnificent iMac design, and the lower display resolution would be more useful on a 24-inch AIO. Beyond those flaws, the Acer Aspire C27-1800 is an affordable AIO that packs a punch over and above its price.

Design & Features
In today’s standards, the all-in-one PC is a laptop packed into the rear of a widescreen LCD monitor with all the connectivity spread into the rear – that’s exactly what you get with the Aspire C27. It’s a well-designed unit, but as mentioned, it doesn’t attempt to compete with the Apple iMac – neither in design nor in performance. All you’re getting is a desktop PC with thin bezels around the 27-inch FHD display, supported by a simple V-shaped stand, with about 30 degrees of tilt.
One of the most outstanding aspects of the Acer Aspire C27 is the 27-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display. It looks sleek thanks to a matte design with black bezels and LED backlighting, and while it measures 27 inches on the diagonal, it appears much bigger, thanks to the low profile with thin bezels on the top and sides. Acer claims that the thin bezels yield large screen estate, and sure users can enjoy 92% more screen across a range of viewing angles.
And while the quality of the display is generally crisp and clear for some lightweight gaming and photo editing, streaming video content might appear slightly washed out. Colors are a bit muted, and a slight vignette/shadow effect is present around the edges of the display, just like in some laptops.
Port selection is pretty basic, with one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C. That’s enough to connect the bundled keyboard and mouse and the Type-C for your peripherals – you might need a dongle if you have more accessories to connect. There’s also an RJ-45 port for Gigabit Ethernet and an HDMI out, along with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity for wireless connections. Both the RAM and SSD are user-upgradable, which is something you rarely find with AIO PCs.

Performance
The Acer Aspire C27-1800 is powered by a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12450H processor,16GB RAM, 16GB RAM and Intel Iris Xe graphics, which is similar to what you’ll find on most midrange laptops. While this won’t satisfy your search for one of the best gaming laptops or top picks for video editing or graphic design, the Acer Aspire C27 is well-suited for the general tasks you expect from your desktop PC. Plus, the 1TB SSD storage capacity should be more than adequate for storing all your files, and it’s faster than traditional hard drives.
This Acer all-in-one is designed for the modern office, student, or family. It’s stylish, quick to start, easy to navigate, and runs all modern computing tasks without a hitch. Whether you’re looking for a machine that can help with daily tasks like multitasking on email, web browsing, and word processing, or you’re looking to stream video, music, and do some light photo editing and gaming too, the Aspire C27-1800 won’t disappoint.
And if you spend long hours in front of the screen, the Acer Blue Light Shield offers several blue light reduction settings to reduce eye strain. Elsewhere, while this desktop offers a pair of stereo speakers, they’re on the back of the machine. The speakers create a muffled tin-can effect when the computer is placed on a desk facing the wall. If you have enough space to keep this machine away from the wall, this will greatly reduce the effect.
Finally, the Acer Aspire C27 comes with a 720p-pixel HD webcam that has just clear-enough video quality, and the audio is just okay. It’s grainy and washed out at the very best. If you’ll be chatting over Zoom or Hangouts, or other platforms, this won’t provide the best-looking chatting experience.

Acer Aspire C27-1800 Review | Verdict
The Acer Aspire C27-1800 is an excellent choice if you want a simple, versatile desktop for everyday use. It will look great in both a home office and a living room, it’s not excessively large, and it runs quietly. There is decent connectivity for both wired and wireless peripherals, and even HDMI-out to extend the display to a second screen.
The Aspire C27’s performance has limits, though. This is not a good choice for top-tier content creation. It’s also not a poor choice for PC gaming. The 1080p display is also not very bright, compared to some 4K monitors we’ve seen, including the Samsung Odyssey G81SF, but such monitors tend to cost north of a grand for the visual fidelity.
These flaws are common on the Acer Aspire C27’s competitors, however, including the Dell Inspiron AIO and the HP Pavilion 27. Mid-range all-in-ones are, as a category, not meant for resource-intensive tasks or gaming. They are affordable, practical PCs for people looking for a stable, 0ut-of-box experience with no fuss. That’s what the Acer Aspire C27-1800 delivers, and it does so with style at a competitive price.
