How to install Advantech 7RTD IoT Modbus Ethernet Remote I/O

To maximize performance and ensure a smooth rollout, follow these installation guidelines that align with common industrial practices for remote I/O devices integrated into Modbus Ethernet networks:

  • Plan your topology: Map the locations of RTD sensors and the network path to the Modbus master or gateway. Define addressing and I/O mapping early to simplify configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Mount securely: Install the 7RTD module on a standard DIN rail inside a control cabinet or enclosure. Ensure there is adequate clearance for connectors, airflow, and heat dissipation.
  • Connect sensors: Attach RTD sensors to the designated input terminals, following the manufacturer’s wiring diagrams. Use shielded cables where appropriate and ground the shield at a single point to minimize noise.
  • Establish network connectivity: Connect the module’s Ethernet port to your local network or Modbus gateway. Verify link status and ensure copper or fiber options meet your network requirements.
  • Power it up: Provide the appropriate DC power supply per the device’s requirements. Confirm that the device powers on and the status indicators reflect normal operation.
  • Configure Modbus addressing: Access the device’s configuration interface (through its web UI or a compatible configuration tool) and assign Modbus slave address(es), input/output mappings, and communication parameters (baud, parity, etc., if applicable).
  • Map I/O and alarms: Define which RTD inputs correspond to each Modbus register or coil, and configure alarm thresholds or condition-based reporting to support proactive maintenance and anomaly detection.
  • Test and verify: Use a Modbus master simulator or your SCADA/HMI system to poll inputs, write outputs, and validate data integrity. Confirm latency, sampling rates, and reliability under load.
  • Document everything: Record the final I/O map, address ranges, network settings, and any firmware or software versions for future reference and compliance audits.
  • Plan for maintenance: Establish a routine for firmware updates, calibration checks for RTDs, and periodic health monitoring to sustain peak performance over time.

Fits but not great quality
Style: for Saros 10R / Saros 20 / Qrevo CurvX, Style: for Saros 10R / Saros 20 / Qrevo CurvX
I ordered these hoping that they would work in my Saros 10R but I didn't have the greatest experience. It's a nice kit because it has everything you need while the company hasn't fully released all replacement parts yet. However, it seems like the quality is lacking compared to what came with the vacuum. When I got the kit, I replaced the mop pads, filter in vacuum, side brushes and main rollers. The mop pads are fine and seem to work as good as stock. They are the right size and I don't have any issues with them. The side brushes also seem mostly the same as stock. However, I ran into issues with the filter and the rollers. I'm including pictures of the filter after one week of use compared to the stock one that has had almost two months of use. It seems like the replacement filter was easily clogged up, whereas the original after two months was clogged in one area. On the back side of the filter, it seemed like the replacement filter was puffy whereas the original was crisp. Even after knocking the replacement around, it seemed like the dust was glued to the filter. These pictures were also taken after the dock "emptied" the vacuum. I also noticed that when I replaced the rollers, the vacuum made a noise like something was rattling around. I put the original rollers back on and the noise stopped. Tried one more time and it made the rattle. So I just ended up using the stock rollers. The kit is nice because it has all the parts you need to maintain the vacuum. However, my experience is that it doesn't work as nice as the originals and I ended up going back with the original manufacturer parts.

Get yourself a spare set of mop cloths to keep your Roborock always ready to run
Size: Mop Cloth-5
Does the Roborock do a fantastic job mopping the floor? No, but it does a pretty good job, in fact “good enough.” Even better, the Roborock mops the floor more frequently than I ever did so it stays cleaner, overall. Definitely get a pack of spare mop cloths so you can have a set being washed while another set is available to put on the mop. So far, none of the mop cloths have worn out. Given how long they’re lasting, I’m inclined to say it is a decent value for the price paid.

OEM Roborock Cleaning Pads - Do not buy the knock offs.
Size: Mop Cloth-4
These are Roborock OEM pads for my 10R. I tried many of the cheap knock offs and they were terrible. These work great. Highly recommend.
