Die seit mehr als 50 Jahren bestehende Fotosammlung der Polaroid Corporation ist das weltweit größte Portfolio von Polaroid-Bildern. Die Sammlung, einst begonnen von Polaroid-Firmengründer Edwin Land und dem Fotografen Ansel Adams, enthält zur Zeit rund 23.000 Bilder von fast 2.000 Fotografen aus aller Welt, darunter Berühmtheiten wie David Hockney, Andy Warhol und Jeanloup Sieff.

Das Polaroid Book taucht ein in diese Archive und würdigt ein lebendiges, sensibles und ausdrucksstarkes Medium, das auch im Zeitalter digitaler Bilderzeugung nichts an Faszination verloren hat. So feiert der Band die schier grenzenlosen Möglichkeiten, die sich innerhalb der weißen Ränder des kleinen Sofortbilds ergeben – leuchtende Beispiele für die Qualität und Vielfalt in der Kunst.
