4.3
RATING

Skytech desktops have always been top contenders in the prebuilt gaming PC arena: reasonably priced, flashy, and, well, powerful. That tradition holds with the latest Skytech King 95, which sports the signature curved glass panel look for a staid, gamer appearance. That extends to the price, too, as the King 95 starts at a sub-$3,000 for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RTX 5070 Ti model and can easily push over $3,500 if you demand all of the bells and whistles.

Skytech, like CyberPowerPC and iBuyPower, is known to offer solid gaming PCs with similar components at a fraction of the cost of mainstream gaming PCs from the likes of Alienware, Lenovo, and Asus. Our review unit includes plenty of high-end hardware to satisfy intensive gaming needs.

About the Skytech King 95

The King 95 gaming PC is fitted to compete with most gaming PCs released in 2025, including the Corsair Vengeance a7500 and the iBUYPOWER Y40 PRO, all packing an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D chip, Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti (16GB DDR7), 32GB DDR5 RAM, and 1TB SSD storage. Among the highlight features on this rig, the Blackwell-based RTC 5070 Ti is a standout; few gaming PCs can compete at this price point, at least for now.

As expected, all that hardware brilliance means the Skytech King 95 dangles close to the upper boundaries of pricing of prebuilt gaming desktops, but not close to the MSRP of most mainstream gaming PCs with similar hardware.

Design and Features

As with most prebuilt gaming PCs, the Skytech King 95s design is lit in more ways than one. The hardware is packed into a Montech King 95 Pro dual-chamber ATX mid-tower gaming case. It’s a massive case that features a curved tempered glass front with 6ARGB PWN fans installed with a fan hub in white color. The case supports a 360mm top radiator, 240mm side radiator, and up to 175mm air cooler height, meaning you’re getting a perfectly cooled gaming rig out of the box.

There are numerous ventilation cutouts on the bottom of the chassis and on the right-side panel, where there are vertical strip cutouts corresponding to the three stacked 120mm ARGB cooling fans. The top panel is also fully ventilated and occupied by three additional 120mm ARGB cooling fans. The final 120mm ARGB fan is on the back of the case. The top, bottom, and right-side panels have removable mesh dust filters installed.

To make the light show more pronounced, the two DDR5 memory modules also incorporate RGB into their heat spreaders, the AIO liquid cooler has an RGB element too. The King 95 measures 18.7 x 11.8 x 17.4 inches, which is pretty huge especially if you’re coming from a smaller gaming PC.

Beyond the visual design, you’ll notice that a small vertical on the front panel contains a power button, a power LED, two USB 3.0 buttons, a mic and audio combo, and a USB-C port. Skytech fitted the King 95 gaming PC with an AMD B650 motherboard that supports Ryzen 7000 and 8000 series processors, which is considered a good balance of performance, features, and price.

The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card has additional DisplayPort and HDMI ports for connecting to your monitor. The monitor is sold separately, but the packages arrives with a bundled gaming mouse and keyboard.

If you need to add internal storage beyond what the three M.2 slots can offer, a removable drive plate can accommodate up to two HDDs and two additional SSDs simultaneously.

Gaming & Productivity performance

The Skytech King 95 packs some beefy hardware, starting with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor – one of the best CPUs for gaming, paired with 32GB of DDR5-5600 memory, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card.

So far, there are not so many Blackwell-equipped gaming desktops for comparison, but there’s the Corsair Vengeance a7500 and the Alienware Area-51, which features a Core Ultra 9 285K, RTX 5090 combo, but far more expensive for comparison. With a sticker price well north of $2,000, we expect great performance from the King 95, and it doesn’t disappoint.

The Skytech King 95 plays games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle fluently, played on a 240Hz DQHD (5120 x 1440) gaming monitor. With all details maxed out, it delivers impeccable performance of around 100 to 120 frames per second (FPS).

On our usual battery of titles, the King 95 plays Shadow of the Tomb Raider (Highest setting) at great precision, reaching 262 FPS at 1080p and 91 FPS at 4K resolution. That performance is much better compared to last year’s Corsair Vengeance with an RTX 4070 Super by nearly 71 and 25 FPS, respectively. The Skytech doesn’t match the Corsair Vengeance a7500 with similar hardware, but they are just under 10 FPS apart, which is understandable as they both use the Ryzen and Nvidia hardware.

On Cyberpunk 20277 (medium settings), the Skytech again shows strong performance. It manages over 95 FPS at 1080p and nearly 32 FPS at 4K. Of course, the Alienware Area with RTX 5090 dominates this benchmark, considering that Cyberpunk 2077 is a punishing title, so the double digits – 122 FPS at 1080p and 58 FPS in 4K are well deserved.

For productivity, the Skytech King 95 is a speedy performer, thanks to its Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, 32GB RAM, and a speedy 1TB NVMe SSD. Thanks to the fast SSD, the King 95 does an impressive job, but its once again behind the Vengeance a7500 that features a PCIE 5.0 SSD.

Skytech King 95 Review: Bottom line

The refresh Skytech King 95 works. At its core, Skytech revamped its gaming desktop line, and while the resultant tower isn’t unique in looks, it’s among the first prebuilts to feature the RTX 50 Series GPU, with improved thermals, affordable and ease of upgrading (eliminating one big exception).

But buyers are likely to be confused by the overwhelming number of different Skytech King 95 and upgrade models, making it a bit difficult to hund for deals barring a sale. Stay away from the RTX 4070 model and go for the 5070 variants, don’t send more for a processor you don’t need, and try to get the 1,000-watt power supply if you can. That’s the latest model released in 2025.

There are also strong competitors out there that give the King 95 a run for its money, but most of them either cost a lot more, including the Corsair Vengeance a7500, or lack the “hardcore gamer” aesthetic like the Alienware Area 51. The Skytech Omega was one great gaming PC, but the latest Skytech King 95 delivers more bang for the buck than any of its siblings.

Skytech’s use of a Ryzen 7 9800X3D chip proves to be a perfect match for the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. Granted, the RTX 5070 Ti is no match for the GeForce RTX 5090; we’ve seen games play beyond the 60 FPS 4K benchmark suite, with the exception of Cyberpunk 2077.

When you consider the design, price, and hardware – then add it all, you have a highly capable gaming desktop at a very good price; and, one that can handle your current and future gaming needs.
